Archives for April 2015
When I first started working from home, it was pajamas all day, wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of coffee and having breakfast in bed..
As dreamy as that sounds, it didn’t last too long.
I noticed if I’d stay in bed all day or kept my “comfy” clothes nothing got done…
I started taking the steps to getting fully ready and taking small breaks here and there.. It has helped out a lot with my time management, as well as keeping my brain clear of being a cluttered mess.
I’d be lying if I said that staying in my pajamas all day wasn’t on the top of my pro’s list when I first started working from home. (Because it totally was.) Get ready like you would if you worked in an office. As hard as it is, it’s so important to get dressed and be presentable. Trust me, I don’t do an entire face of makeup every morning but I do, do enough to look presentable. I promise you, your day will be much more productive.
My hours are from 9 – 5 (6ish) depending what time Matt gets home from work! If I have meetings or photos to shoot during the day, I might work little later to catch up on some e-mails. But for the most part I have set hours. I do this because if you allow yourself to work until midnight you’re going to get drained and run down.
I can’t get enough of these two… ^^^ DAAAH!
So over the last three years of blogging (holy hannah I can’t believe it’s been that long) I’ve always had fun playing with my camera. Luckily I’ve had some great teachers Rachel from Rachel Kaye Photography and Emily from Emily Rose Photography have always inspired me with their work.
Both of my bridal showers are just about a month away (HOOOLY) and so I’ve been seriously browsing pinterest for some theme ideas! These are some photos that really caught my eye! I love the light and airiness but then I love that each have a little bit of a bold statement. My wedding theme is very light and airy, with pops of greenery and blushes.
Did you have a bridal shower theme?
Happy Friday, Guys!! Ahhh I am so thrilled the weekend is just about here. This past week has been completely insane and the weekend will probably be just as insane.. But that’s okay! I’d rather have a busy life then a boring one.
Like I was saying above, life has been crazy. This past week was so compact of all sorts of emotions. Lots of highs and a few real lows. Our wedding ceremony spot changed again.
When you were younger, you drew, you colored.
You said you’d be a doctor one day, or maybe the president and no one ever told you; you couldn’t.
You had fun, and you took risks you weren’t ashamed.
You thought you were awesome.
When you get older, you forget you’re awesome.
Escape life cubical. We get so caught up on pleasing everyone else that we now forget to please ourselves.
Media, friends, family society want to mold you and tell you to be something that you’re not.
Deep down, you have all of the tools that you need to be happy. Stand out as an individual. When you start to do that your soul will sing.
Who are you? What are the things you like, and what pisses you off? What makes you smile?
Stop thinking and start doing.
Anything that might appeal to you go out and give it a try! Volunteer or take a class. Do something to get you in the right direction of it and see if it’s something that could potentially bring you joy.
Is it warm where you’re at? Michigan teased us with some beautiful weather yesterday and It defiantly had me craving the warmer days of Spring. Did you have a wonderful Easter? We sure did! Our good friends Carisa and Henry (Carisa from Bunnies and Pearls) gave birth to their beautiful baby boy Saturday night. I’m so thrilled for the two of them; God is good.
